If you choose 'student/teacher' you will need to upload proof of eligibility before you are able to activate the software. This can be a student/staff card, purchase order, or any official correspondence from your institution. If you have any doubt about your eligibility, please contact us before placing an order as this verification is done post-purchase.
NEW LICENCES
Perpetual licenses do not expire, although you are only entitled to free updates for the first year, after which you will remain on that same version unless you pay to upgrade.
Subscriptions are for 1-year and need to be renewed annually if you wish to continue using Pro Tools.
Basically, subscriptions are a great idea if you're not sure how long you will use the software for, or if you value always being on the very latest version. If you know you are going to be using Pro Tools for a long time, a perpetual licence gives you guaranteed access without having to renew annually.
PERPETUAL UPGRADES
All upgrade options give you access to 1-year of updates and support. This means you will have access to the latest version of Pro Tools, as well as any new versions that are released in the next 12 months.
Only choose 'Renewal' if you have a current 'Update & Support Plan'. If this has elapsed, you will need pay the higher price or consider switching to a subscription.
SUBSCRIPTON RENEWALS
Renewals are the same price as a new subscription, but we supply a different type of activation code so that the system knows to extend your existing licence.
