Fanfare and Dance commences with a grand and impressive fanfare led by the brass section, giving way to a light and playful dance. As the music progresses the fanfare style re-emerges as the counter melodic material to the dance; so at this point we actually do have a Fanfare and a Dance. The two styles while imposed on each other should not be thought of as opposing each other they need to work together and allow each theme and style to be heard.
