A refreshingly "easy-going" contemporary piece of music, not necessarily easy as far as its level of difficulty is concerned - which is rather on the intermediate side - but relating to its characteristic style. These pieces are quite varied both musically and technically; the relation between violin and piano is balanced, and both parts have nearly the same level of difficulty. Therefore, this album is suited for concerts and competitions alike, but also at home, this music brings about a lot of fun. The Bulgarian composer Ivan Shekov (* 1942) has been living in Germany since 1980 and has been close to the publishing company ever since.
