This collection of 5 quartets, three from composer Douglas Townsend and two arrangements of baroque and classical works are great pieces for budding young violinists. Each piece has been carefully edited by string educator Amy Rosen and addresses the needs of younger players. Second year students will enjoy playing these quartets that will help them raise their comfort level and proficiency when in an ensemble setting.

Each piece has been carefully edited to facilitate the needs of younger players. The collection is within the grasp of second year students and will be ideal for use in school situations to motivate the better violinists in the school orchestra. All of the pieces will work with one on a part of as a balanced ensemble using the entire violin section. A great introduction into chamber music performance!
