The Journey Home conveys the growing excitement one feels as the landscape and landmarks become more and more recognizable as "home." The opening melody played by the solo trumpet generates all the motivic ideas used by composer Andrew Boysen Jr. With each succeeding section, the key center rises until an eventual arrival at the end of the journey and a triumphant return to the opening “home” melody.
